March 2014 - Stephenson Spring Break Day 4

Mon, 3/31/14:  Today both J and I had to work, boooooo, the fam went to Magic Kingdom and then after work I went to their place and waited about an hour for them to get home.  I was really hungry so I went to grab dinner at a Greek food place.  I walked in and saw that the gyros were $7 so even though I really wanted fries I only ordered the gyro because we are poor.  As soon as I said that a man behind me said, “Oh no, you have to get the fries, they are delicious here.”  I said, “Oh I bet, but I’m on a budget and I can’t get them.”  He said, “Put her stuff on my tab.  She has to try them.”  "I said oh no you don’t have to do that…really…" (feeling awkward)…and he insisted and got really close to me and was just downright creepy.  I said thank you and then moved over to the side and he kept glancing and acting weird.  As I was waiting his friend walked in and they both waited right by the cashier and his friend (they both seemed drunk) looked over at me and said, “Where did you say you’re from?  Russia?”  AH!  “Taken!”  I said "no…I’m American" (and hoped they would leave when I closed my eyes).  The food was finally finished and creeper guy #1 had to get my food out of his bag and as he walked past me he tried rubbing/touching me on the arm saying, “Have a great night” and I flinched SO BAD thinking he was going to touch me in a weird place and I was scared out of my mind!!!  I didn’t feel like I should leave yet so I sat at a table.  Then the first guy came back in and asked if I’d gotten my fries and I said no but please don’t worry about it and then he barked to the employees to get me my fries…then he just kept glancing and being a creep.  He finally left for good in his mustang and the owner and his son came over to me and asked if I was okay and told me to not leave the store for 20 minutes.  My heart was racing.  I felt like I was in the movie ‘Taken’!  And I was so worried he had seen my ID when I got my card out to pay (which I never ended up using obviously).  AHHHHHHHH.  I called dad and told him to come get me and that was a relief when he came.  J was still at work and so I hesitantly ate my dinner (I felt weird eating something a creeper had bought but hey it was free) as I explained the freaky story to everyone and then the kids and dad swam as I sat by mom and talked.  Then I drove home because I still had to edit J’s 10 page paper but when I pulled into the garage I was so freaked out and so I called J and he was only 10 min away so I stayed parked in the garage with my doors locked until he came home.  Haha!  He was also weirded out by the story…and jealous and defensive…

March 2014 - Stephenson Spring Break Day 3

Sun, 3/30/14:  Today we were able to go to church with my family!!  I was soooooo excited to introduce them to all the people I love and introduce the people I love to the people I love even more!  I played Easter hymns on the organ for prelude and it totally felt like a piano recital like when I was younger with my parents looking on.  In YW Mom and Lauren sat by an investigator named Ashley and they made her feel so loved and special.  Today at church I just realized how Mom is the epitome of love, makes me feel so loved, so nice to Ashley, makes everyone feel so loved, I want to be just like her, Lauren being nice to Ashley, Dad talking to Beth, so kind to everyone, so loving.  I LOOOOOOVED introducing my mom and sisters to all the girls.  AH!  I love them.  Ayana Cedeno taught such a good lesson on why we need to forgive.  Then when I got home mom was warming up the lasagna I had cooked earlier in the morning and it was so fun to eat together just like old times!  We had a meal that reminded me of home – lasagna, garlic bread, and salad.  Then we went to my family’s condo they were renting and J was on the phone with his family talking about the ranch’s future so I sat and talked with dad about our future.  I love talking to him.  He shows so much love and care and I love him so much.  Then we put some brownies in the oven and watched Frozen!  It was so fun to be together and to laugh together.  One of my favorite things is seeing my family laugh.

March 2014 - Stephenson Spring Break Day 2

Sat, 3/29/14:  Today we went to the Kennedy Space Center!  J and I were so excited because we’ve lived here for a year and a half and have never been.  We went on a bus tour and it was so fun to see all the take-off launch pads and then walk around in the museum.  We watched some cool movie clips and ate lunch, then mom and Lauren and I had to leave because we had to get back in time for the trek clothing sewing service project.  As we were waiting in line to get on the bus this “sweet” old man from Belgium was behind us and started talking to us.  He was really fun at first…and then just turned creepy.  He tried to sit next to mom on the bus but THANK GOODNESS she read my mind and put the backpack on the seat next to her.  Then we got off the bus and he started talking to us about his jeep and how he could drive us around in it.  HAHAHAH.  Then we drove home in a TORNADO, no joke we were getting tornado warnings on our phones and I have never driven in scarier weather.  We almost had to pull over and mom said a prayer.  We finally made it to the stake center and helped all the girls in our stake sew their trek clothes.  It was so fun to be there with my mom and sister!!  I miss that.  Then we ate dinner and watched the General Women’s Broadcast, which was so cool because girls 8 and older were all allowed to watch it and I loved the unity and sisterhood that I felt.

Haha I love this

The boys stayed and saw the Atlantis display

You'd think my always-cold-mom would FINALLY be warm in Florida, but nope...here she is modeling my long skirt, yoga pants, and jacket she borrowed.

When we got home the boys were relaxing watching some sort of action movie.  Such a fun day!
