I love this incredible, loving man.

“Thou shalt love [thy husband] with all thy heart, and shalt cleave unto [him] and none else” (D&C 42:22).

"THE FAMILY is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners" (The Family: A Proclamation to the World).

I am so excited to move to Florida with him and soon raise a family with him by my side!!

PS.  I found this article on lds.org:  "Twenty Ways to Make Good Marriage Great."  It is wonderful!  Read it here.

Southern Road Trip Soon!

This past Saturday, after we got back from our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY get away (can't believe it's been a year!!), we sat down and planned our summer out.  Basically, my internship ends in 2.5 weeks, then we have 6 weeks of summer to play (family reunions, the ranch, Bees games, American Idol CONCERT, etc etc!) and pack up, and then we roll outta here July 31st or August 1st!  It's all becoming so real!  I know it will be a huge adjustment but it will also be so fun.  We are trying to decide right now whether we want to rent an apartment for our two years down there or buy a house.  Jared's dad is considering buying a home down there with us as an investment since the Reids visit Orlando so often.  Homes in Orlando are SOOOOO inexpensive right now, that the monthly mortgage rates would be CHEAPER than monthly apartment rent rates!  So we are thinking about that right now.  Also, we are going to be flying down to Orlando at the end of July to look at all the apartments and homes we're researching right now, as well as visit UCF.  We are so excited!!

We are probably going to use a POD instead of a u-haul.  Although a u-haul would make for some incredible stories, we think a POD would be better financially and would be more stress free compared to a u-haul (truck, gas, hassle, etc).  Another reason we may use a POD is because our drive to Florida could become one big road trip since we won't have a big truck to worry about!  Depending on the route we take, we could visit Jared's mission in Tennessee, the bayou (we love the show "Swamp People", hahaha i know), and all the other quaint, traditional, and beautiful things about the South!  Emily Romrell and I used to be obsessed with the TV series "North and South," and so I am begging Jared to let us take the route that will show us all the beautiful southern plantation homes.  I have always wanted to see them!!!!!!!!!

Recently our days consist of:
  • Jared waking up at 4:30 AM, going to work
  • Carly waking up at 7 AM, going to her internship
  • Jared getting home at 3 PM
  • Carly getting home at 5:30 or 8, depending on whether or not she has class that night
  • J&C eating dinner, watching a little TV together, just doing SOMETHING to make her forget that she just researched for 7.5 hours straight and that he had to wake up so early
  • Talking giddily about Florida, classes he's signing up for, apartments, DISNEYWORLD
  • Carly starting homework at 9 PM
  • Jared going to bed at 10 PM
  • Carly stumbling to bed at midnight
I need to have my independent study class completed by May 24th, my internship will end around June 6th, and my English 315 final is June 14th.  That will be my last final of my college career.  JUNE 14TH WILL BE A GLORIOUS DAY!

Although finishing school has been extremely hard, I am grateful for this opportunity to grow, gain more knowledge through school and my internship, and enjoy my life with Jared.  Life is so good when you have the gospel and your ETERNAL COMPANION!
